Lighting From Intent to Installation: Bahrain Delivered with Zero Flights

An interior designer approached Ideaworks to support the development of a lighting concept for a residential project in Bahrain, with the requirement to translate creative intent into a fully defined, buildable package.

Ideaworks assessed the intent, produced the lighting specification and technical definition, and then delivered the full supply package, including international logistics, without any Ideaworks team member travelling.

Supporting Interior Lighting Design Intent

At the point of engagement, the lighting design had already been established by the designer, including key features such as coffers, backlit elements and downlighting.

Ideaworks reviewed and supported that creative intent, including refining installation details to ensure the best lighting effect – notably, the complete eradication of dark spots in the backlit details.

Lighting Specification and Technical Design Development

Following this review, Ideaworks developed a complete lighting specification aligned with the design intent, defining product selection, performance requirements and technical configuration.

A coordinated schedule and full bill of materials were produced to ensure the package was fully defined, commercially robust and ready for procurement.

This stage provided clarity between design vision and installation reality, ensuring all components were specified as a complete and deliverable system.

Engineered for Installation

In parallel with specification, Ideaworks defined drivers and how the system connected, before procuring and delivering the entire lighting equipment package.

This procurement not only involved the purchase of the correct items, but also the fabrication of all linear LED to the required site lengths, ensuring a plug-and-play solution for the local installers. Similarly, 5-pin DALI connectors were added to all downlights, with the opposite side sent to the site ahead of time to ensure the quickest possible installation time.

Delivered from London

Working to a defined programme and within a compressed timeframe, Ideaworks specified, procured and delivered the full lighting package from the UK.

Through careful coordination of specification, fabrication and logistics, the project was delivered efficiently while maintaining consistency, technical accuracy and design integrity throughout.
