Lighting Design for Le Petit Café Robuchon Monaco

A collaboration with Francis Sultana Studio

A Collaboration Rooted in Craftsmanship

We were delighted to work alongside the interior design team at Francis Sultana to deliver the lighting scheme for Le Petit Café Robuchon Monaco, a space that blends refined materials, elegant detailing, and a contemporary sense of luxury.

Luxury Meets Accessibility

As part of the globally renowned Robuchon Monaco Group, Le Petit Café Robuchon Monaco embodies a more relaxed expression of the brand’s culinary excellence. While rooted in the legacy of legendary chef Joël Robuchon, Le Petit Café Robuchon Monaco offers an elevated all-day dining experience with a focus on artisanal produce, considered service, and timeless design. Positioned in the heart of one of the world’s most exclusive destinations, it balances accessibility with unmistakable prestige.

Lighting for All-Day Ambience

With a fast-paced programme and high expectations for design quality, the lighting needed to be both beautiful and highly functional. The brief called for flexibility: the space had to feel bright and fresh during the day, yet warm and intimate in the evening.

To meet this, we designed and implemented a dynamic white lighting system, allowing the client to adjust the ambience throughout the day. This tunable approach enables Le Petit Café Robuchon Monaco to transition seamlessly from a lively daytime café to a more subdued, sophisticated setting as the night falls.

Layered Light, Harmonised Design

Precision downlighting was used to accentuate key surfaces, including the central counter and dining areas, creating layers of light that define the space without overwhelming it. These architectural lights establish a clear visual hierarchy, supporting both form and function.

We also collaborated on selecting and integrating decorative luminaires, including bespoke pendants and wall lights designed by Francis Sultana. These elements add a layer of glamour and sparkle, while harmonising beautifully with the rich material palette and considered interior architecture.

Crafted to Complement the Vision

The result is a lighting scheme that feels as thoughtfully crafted as the interiors, responsive, refined, and harmonious with the design vision.
